The WordPerfect processor includes the file using the .wwb file extension in its cache of file and processes. The file contains a string of codes, which define the appearance of the button bar as well as link to other functions available in the button bar.

The file that uses the WWB file extension is used as a shortcut to some functions that can be found in the menu. Once accessed by the WordPerfect program, it lets the user do a number of functions if needed immediately.

The button bar of the WordPerfect is also called a property bar. A property bar is different form a tool bar in that it appears when the user needs it. The .wwb file extension is used by an independent file, which allows the button bar to have a set of icons available that symbolize the function needed.

The user can change the position and location of the button bar. A file using the file extension WWB appended to it allows the object to be independent of the main window of the program. Since the file that uses the file extension .wwb connects to several functions, the user can also customize which icons will appear.

The WordPerfect system file with the file extension .wwb does not contain all the functions placed as icons in the button bar. Once an icon is chosen to appear on the button bar, the file containing the WWB file extension connects to the process so that its corresponding icon shows up on the button bar.

Corel distributes the WordPerfect program as its main word processor. Recent incarnations of the program are included in the WordPerfect Office Suite. The suite offers a number of applications designed to work with different word file formats like PDF and XML.
