REM File Extension Description

ACT! Database is a database management system that is used by several businesses. It is an application that draws together several files so that they can be easy to find. Database programs can consolidate information like contacts, addresses, phone numbers and the like into one worksheet. The program ACT! Database can also be used to create customized databases. The ACT uses the file extension .rem! Database as a maintenance file.

Files with the REM file extension are called Delphi Memory Swap Files. They are temporary Delphi files that contain information about projects that were being worked on. Files with the .rem file extension save any changes made through the Delphi program.

Swap files are files, which track changes made during the program. To save memory space, a swap file will overlap the original until the changes are completely saved. If the changes are not saved, the files with the REM file extension are automatically deleted when the Delphi program closes.
