EA Sports, a branch of Electronic Arts, developed the game Total Club Manager. Later versions of the game were later renamed FIFA Manager. The objective of the game is to successfully manage winning football teams. The game uses the file extension PLA to mark its Training Routine.

The APT Assistant application uses the .pla file extension to store the program?s source codes. The basic principle of the software is to use the Accelerated Planning Technique to help users manage and plan business tasks. The program can help set schedules, create charts and analyze data.
