DB3 File Extension Uses
The program is classified as a database management system and thereby provides users with tools to create and write tools for managing databases. Projects done with the dBase III program are given the .db3 file extension. Files that have the DB3 file extension contain source code that can later be used to create programs. These files can be opened, tested and edited by the dBase III application.
Files that have the DB3 file extension contain object oriented language. This programming language uses objects and the relationships between them to create source codes. The codes saved with the .db3 file extension can be used to make website applications, middleware programs and Windows rich client tools.
The file extension .db3 is also used by the 3rd installment of the Dr. Brain series of educational puzzle games. Dr. Brain is a video game that revolves around the adventures of a scientist. The main character invents a time machine so that he can go back in time to find his missing keys. However, the time machine malfunctions and sends Dr. Brain to an alternative universe. The object of the game is to solve the puzzles so that Dr. Brain can return to his own dimension.
There are four games in the Dr. Brain series. The third game is called The Lost Mind of Dr. Brain. Unlike the first games, this one focuses more on puzzles and abandons the adventure element. The Lost Mind of Dr. Brain uses the .db3 file extension for its saved games.
Files with the DB3 file extension record the progress of a player. This way if the game gets cut short unexpectedly, the progress can still be retrieved. The player can load a file with the .db3 file extension back into the game and continue it. Files with the .db3 file extension will note when the game play ended and recall all the actions that came before then.
