BI File Extension Description
binary files use the file extension .bi. Binary files are computer files, which contain binary code. Binary code is based in the binary numerical system. The numerical system uses only two symbols: 1 and 2. These two symbols are then used to encode data.
Files created by a number of applications use the .bi file extension. These files can be used to store information on a hard disk. They can also be used to process information. Sometimes files with the BI file extension are created to send information. Files with the .bi file extension can contain simple text files. Formatted documents can also be encoded to have the BI file extension.
Files with the .bi file extension are composed of bytes. This means that the binary characters are clustered in groups of eight. These files often contain more complex data than plain text. The file extension BI can be added to source code that has already been compiled. Programming language can write codes for programs and compiled so that they can be executed.
Aside from programs, files with the .bi file extension can also hold sounds and images. They are sometimes used to create compressed archives.
Binary files often contain headers. Headers are code used by a file to hold its description. These are used to prepare a computer for processing the file. Binary files that don?t use headers can also use the .bi file extension.
By themselves, files with the BI file extension do not hold any information. These files need a program to interpret the code. These programs can open a compressed text document, a sound or an image. Some applications can access processes that are stored with the .bi file extension.
The Quick Basic and Visual Basic program from the Microsoft Corporation also uses the BI file extension. The file is used to specify the header of created files. Files with the .bi file extension state that the header is included in the final file.
