The process wltray.exe is installed alongside Dell Wireless LAN Cards and loads the utility icon in the system notification area. This process, along with some utility components such as five utility tabs and wireless network connection settings, provides additional configuration for Dells Wireless LAN Card devices.
A right-click of the mouse on the utility icon instructs the wltray.exe process to provide the user with a range of options that can offer the capability of performing the operations below:

The wltray.exe EXE opens the Wireless Network Wizard to connect to a basic network, creates an ad hoc network, or opens the Wireless Network Connection Settings tool to connect to an advanced network. The Wireless Network Wizard and the utility can be used by selecting the check box labeled Let this tool manage your wireless networks. A right-click of the mouse on the icon of the file wltray.exe will provide the Open Utility option, and clicking on this option will allow the user to gain access to the wide range of features offered by the utility.
The Wireless Networks tab has controls that enable the wltray.exe process to use the utility in order to manage your wireless networks, add, edit or remove a network connection profile, change the order in which profiles are listed under the preferred network connections, and connect to any listed network without changing its order in the list. It also allows you to choose which type of network to access. In addition, the capability of locking or unlocking a preferred network connection profile as well as the capacity to save your wireless network connection profiles as a WPN file are provided by this application. The importation of a WPN file is also allowed by this process.
The wltray.exe process can offer users with the capability of monitoring real-time network statistics, signal and noise information, and the status of your network connection. The information is displayed on the Link Status tab. The status of your network connections is also indicated by the appearance of the wltray.exe process. The number and color of the bars indicate the strength or weakness of the signal. Hovering the mouse pointer on the icon of the utility can provide users with the capability of viewing network speed, connection status, and signal strength rating as well as the network name (SSID) and the network connections client IP address.
