Description:

The process vdtask.exe is bundled with the GameDrive & VirtualDrive Personal Task Service from Farstone Technologies Inc. The file vdtask.exe emulates the computer's CD or DVD-ROM drive, which allows you to launch CD and DVD programs directly from the hard disk without the need to use the physical drive.

This VirtualDrive that the process vdtask.exe executes, copies CDs or DVDs as an image that runs instead of the disc. Archiving virtual CDs within a search capable library, transporting them in a notebook computer, or sharing them via a network is possible with the vdtask.exe file. Virtual CDs can also be directly played on the hard disk, reducing the possibility of damage to your CD-ROM drive while extending the laptop computers battery life. It provides access speeds of nearly 200 times the speed of CD-ROM counterparts, which enables better performance for PC games, photo CDs, and disc-based applications.

With the file vdtask.exe running in the computer, user can actually initiate as many virtual CDs simultaneously as they have available virtual drive letters, while moving from one PC game or application to some other application without the need to swap CDs or wait for discs to spin.
