Description:

The usrsta.exe file is also referred to as the Wireless Status Tray Applet. An Applet features display and graphics and usually requires human interaction. Compared to a program, the applet is dependent on its host program. An applet is usually included in the system to monitor the status of a certain device.

The usrsta.exe file displays an icon in the Windows system tray or task bar to show that the U.S. Robotics wireless modem is connected. The user can also bring up the interface for configuring the settings of the wireless modem thru the usrsta.exe file. The usrsta.exe file is an essential in keeping track of the state of the wireless connection. A prompt or the icon for the usrsta.exe file will change if the device was disconnected or if it has limited connectivity. The usrsta.exe file also displays notifications or prompts if certain errors occur with the device or the connection. During the Windows startup the usrsta.exe file automatically searches and establishes the connection to the Internet in order for the user not to manually set the connection. If the user wishes to establish connections to other wireless network the user can do so thru the usrsta.exe process. The process is also an access to the main settings of the wireless device.

Today, wireless connections are preferred over cable connections, because the user can connect to the Internet without being stuck in the same place. Wireless connection is also faster now that technology has introduced the so called WiFi connection. Users can access the Internet almost anywhere with a wireless connection.
