Description:

The updtnv28.exe process is a component that is added to your system by Symantec and which updates the Micro Definitions of Symantecs Anti-Virus products. The file updtnv28.exe can be started automatically when entered in RunServices, RunOnce, Run or RunServicesRun in the system registry. The updtnv28.exe process starts the automatic update of Norton Antivirus for virus definitions and engine files to scan and repair recently discovered computer viruses.

The updtnv28.exe process is the Antivirus Updater that is associated with Norton Live Update. In order to receive these updates, a valid subscription is necessary that may be included with purchase of Norton Antivirus products. In the Norton Antivirus Corporate Edition, each workstation does not need to have LiveUpdate but may access it through the main server. The central server updates itself with LiveUpdate and distributes these to the workstations.
