Description:
USB Flash Disks are now becoming the trend for an easy, fast, and convenient way to store data. However just like a lot of drivers, the UFD or USB Flash Drive is composed of utilities that are called upon by the ufdtool.exe process. This process file is created to support the use of USB Flash Disk by providing users with all the utilities symultaniously.
USB Flash Disk utilities are specialized small applications like an editor or a debugger, which are used to perform very specific functions. They solve narrowly focused problems or problems related to UFD management. Generally, USB Flash Disks have three tools or utilities. These tools need to access the ufdtool.exe file in order to work properly.
Error-checking, defragmentation, and backup are the three tools in a USB Flash Disk. Error-checking is an option that checks the drive for errors. Defragmentation is the process of recognizing the storage space of the USB Flash Disk and optimizing its performance by consolidating related files. The backup utility is used to make backup copies of the USB Flash Disk. The ufdtool.exe process must always support all these tools in order to function properly.
The ufdtool.exe file starts once a USB Flash Disk is plugged into the computer. The process runs and waits to be called upon when the user needs the use of the USB Flash Disks tools. It becomes active once a certain tool is used and continues running while the tool is doing its task. The ufdtool.exe process will only stop running once the tool has finished its task. It also becomes deactivated when the USB Flash Disk is unplugged from the computer.
The ufdtool.exe process is very helpful for users since they are given the capability to configure their USB Flash Disk and make the storage device a more useful piece of equipment for them than other storage devices like CDs or floppy Disks.
