Description:

The toshkcw.exe process launches the utility that enables Wireless LAN for Toshiba Laptops (2003 and later models). The filename toshkcw.exe can run during the Windows boot-up process to enable activation or deactivation of the 802.11b built in wireless transmission on the laptop. IEEE 802.11b technology permits wireless freedom at Ethernet speed, creating a mainstream connectivity solution for Toshiba laptop users. This system for data transmission enables network access, independent of location, by utilizing radio waves instead of an infrastructure on cables. A wireless LAN provides complete access to services and resources to an existing wired network. The process toshkcw.exe permits connection of the Toshiba laptop at a specification of 1 Mbps and up to 11 Mbps transmission that is compatible to a wired Ethernet. The 802.11b specification standard also called Wi-Fi, provides over the air communication between a base station and a wireless client or between two wireless users.

The toshkcw.exe process particularly supports the hotkey Fn+F8 that enables or disables Wi Fi and Bluetooth. The combination of the function keys, opens a small screen pop up displaying toggling options to use Bluetooth or Wireless LAN capabilities.
