Description:

The Microsoft Daylight Saving Time utility is the basic function of the timezone.exe process, which implements the Microsoft Time Zone application. The timezone.exe application conveniently works in the system tray and allows you to view the date and time in various locations around the world. The file also installs a small system tray icon that allows you to specify and display as many as five cities to watch the time on. Additionally, the file timezone.exe and the Microsoft Time Zone application let you compare times at various places across the world without having to change your own system time.

The process timezone.exe is only available to customers running a genuine version of Microsoft Windows. It is installed through the TimeZone.msi file. This file is a Windows Installer file that associates components with features and contains installation control information. The current version of the file is 2.1 has a known size of 712,704 bytes. During installation of the timezone.exe file and the Microsoft Time Zone, the value HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ Windows\ CurrentVersion\ Run is added in the system registry thereby allowing them the capability to preload during Windows boot time.

The file timezone.exe is supported in several Windows operating systems, such as Windows Server 2003, Windows XP Home and Professional Editions, Windows XP Service Pack 1, and Windows XP Service Pack 2. The Microsoft .NET Framework v1.1 or the Microsoft .NET Framework v1.1 Service Pack 1 must also be installed in the system before you can utilize the functions of the timezone.exe process.
