Description:

The taskswitch.exe process is an add-on application for Microsoft Windows XP operating systems. The application is categorized under the description "Powertoys," which adds features to an already complete XP system.

The taskswitch.exe process is known by its download name as Alt-Tab Replacement utility, which enhances the graphic display of switching between active programs, using the Alt+Tab in your keyboard. The process has no visible user interface when it is executed during Windows XP boot, but will display the interface once the combination keys are pressed.

One unique feature provided by the process is that it allows the user to see a preview image of the minimized application. This is quite a nifty feature when there are multiple sessions of the same application active. Note, however, that the taskswitch.exe is designed solely for use in Windows XP only. Installing this on other platforms, like 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000, and Vista, will not have any visible effect on the interface when the ALT+TAB combination is pressed.
