Description:

The taskpanl.exe execution file is part of the Earthlink TotalAccess software, which is installed into your system when you are subscribed to Earthlink's Internet services. The software can only be downloaded by members of the company, or can be purchased by non-members.

The taskpanl.exe process will boot upon Windows startup and will place a shortcut icon on the system tray in your taskbar. The icon will indicate that the process is active in the system's background and will add certain features to some of the components used with it. Such features being added by this process are as follows:

While the process is active, it will activate the Earthlink Protection Control Center application, which blocks spyware, hacker's intrusion into the system, and viruses spread all over the Internet.

The process will also incorporate security measures into email software utilized in the system (e.g. Microsoft Outlook). It has a built-in email spam control, as well as a pop-up blocker for Web browsers, like Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox.

Also, the Earthlink Accelerator, loaded by the taskpanl.exe process, allows users subscribed to the Earthlink Internet service to experience accelerated speed (through packet compressions techniques) with its current connectivity.

Other features incorporated by the file taskpanl.exe include providing the user with the ability to change configurations of the applications associated with it. The configuration of Earthlink TotalAccess, Earthlink's Protection Control Center, and Earthlink Accelerator can be changed, if necessary.
