Description:

Spacenet, Inc., as support for its StarBand Nova 1000 and 1500 Always-on Internet Services, developed the executable file taskbarclient.exe. The process is included in the startup group with a registry value under the location HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ Windows\ CurrentVersion\ Run\.

The process taskbarclient.exe is responsible for placing shortcut icons of Starband Nova 1000 and 1500 Internet Service on the system tray. Clicking on the icon will open up the status of the StarBand Nova Internet Connection, as well as the settings for various configurations of the program itself.

Aside from the system tray shortcut icon, the taskbarclient.exe process is also in-charge of loading other GUIs, like dialog boxes, message windows, pop-ups, and so on. The process will also synchronize with other applications associated with Spacenet's StarBand Internet Services to properly produce the user interface each component will need.

Clicking on the icons of applications in the taskbarclient.exe processs mini interface will load the designation program when it is properly installed in the system. Note, however, that the process will only function properly if the user is subscribed to Spacenet's services, like StarBand; any other Internet service will not function with the protocols of this process.

If no longer subscribed with the ISP (Internet Service Provider), you can safely uninstall the program via the Add/Remove Programs applet in your Control Panel. This will automatically remove the program from the startup group and free up significant system resources, like RAM and virtual memory.
