Description:

The process sweetim.exe belongs to the software called SweetIM, from the software company Macrogaming Ltd. The purpose of the file is very simple and that is basically to provide MSN Messenger users more smiley icons or emoticons to use during chat sessions. Aside from this, the sweetim.exe application also provides winks, audibles, display pictures, sound effects, and nudges.

When the SweetIM software is installed on the computer, it will integrate itself automatically into the MSN Messenger application. Once the sweetim.exe has injected itself on the MSN Messenger software, the user may now use all the features SweetIM provides. However, if the MSN Messenger is not detected to be installed on the computer, the installer of the sweetim.exe application will ask for it to be put in.

The only setback of the sweetim.exe application is that it should also be present on the receiving computer. For example, if Computer A, which has the file sweetim.exe, sends an emoticon, the receiving computer, Computer B, should also have the sweetim.exe application installed in that computer. If not, Computer B will not be able to receive the emoticons sent by Computer A.

The installer of the application sweetim.exe will also give users the option to install a SweetIM toolbar for Microsoft Internet Explorer. This SweetIM toolbar will give users the ability to add favorite emoticons and icons onto any Web based application. This includes Web based email clients such as Gmail, Yahoo Mail, and Hotmail. Aside from these, the emoticons and icons of the file sweetim.exe can also be used when posting comments on forums and blogs.

The sweetim.exe process is only started every time the application MSN Messenger is launched or activated. The same goes with the SweetIM toolbar. The toolbar is only launched if the Internet browser is opened.
