Description:

The file speedtec.exe is the main executable file for Accel SpeedTec, an application that speeds up the modem and access to the Internet. Montana Software developed this program. The first version of Accel SpeedTec was released in 1998.

Accel SpeedTec customizes the settings of Internet protocol in the Windows registry to boost the speed rate of downloads on all modems. Accel SpeedTec makes the Internet connection more effecient and sends the maximum possible amount of data via the modem by avoiding the fragmentation of data packets sent over the Internet. It works with all types of connections whether it is dial-up, DSL, cable, or Network interface cards.

The process speedtec.exe features a user-friendly interface; clearly illustrated help files, and help buttons that are context sensitive. Accel SpeedTec is easy to use. It has a Quick Start Guide that pops up during the first run of Accel SpeedTec. It allows the user to maximize the system with a single click. Accel SpeedTec has a feature to find the MaxMTU that looks for the MaxMTU on its way to any chosen domain. It has an Internet Update feature that checks for the latest version of Accel SpeedTec and installs it in the system.

Another feature of the process speedtec.exe is its Hosts File Editor function, which speeds up access to any web sites. It greatly speeds all types of Internet connections. The speedtec.exe application has an Update All button for the Hosts File Editor to keep files current. The program also has a Defaults button that returns the system to default settings
