SpeedMeter is an application that measures upload and download speed of an Internet or broadband connection. A report is created by the process speedmeter.exe showing the download speed; upload speed, latency and Domain Name Service lookup times. This application measures Assymetric Digital Subscriber Line Networks 2 (ADSL2) which optionally extends the size of basic Assymetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) in data rates to 12 Mbit/s downstream and 3.5 Mbit/s upstream.

The process speedmeter.exe has an internal name of internaladslspeedmeter. SpeedMeter provides a simple and easy to understand interface which clearly displays the upload and download speed of an Internet connection. The Quality of Service or QoS represents the level of consistent download capacity provided by the DSL provider.
