The file sage.exe is the main process behind Microsoft Plus! System Agent. The process sage.exe automatically tunes the system, the performing tasks like error correction and disk optimization.

The process sage.exe works while the user works. This is a background process that maintains the system at scheduled times or when the user is not using the PC. The process sage.exe can load any application on prescheduled times.

The sage.exe process has the ability to have any application running. This is except for the Microsoft Plus! used for Windows 95 which is packaged and comes with Defrag that are System Agent aware, ScanDisk plus the Compression Agent utility versions.

One handy way of using the process sage.exe or System Agent scheduling tool is to have it periodically run disk maintenance programs such as ScanDisk and Disk Defragmenter both of which come with Windows 95. The dialog box options within System Agent and these utilities let the user set up the programs to run without further intervention.

Microsoft Plus! also enhances the drive space to allow for large compressed volumes and larger compression ratios. When the Compression Agent is used along with the System Agent, the user can compress data even if the PC is not used. The user will get a larger disk space that does not have any performance penalty once the so-called System Agent and the Compression Agent are combined together. This enhanced compression engine is optimized for Pentium computers to ensure greater performance for Pentium personal computers.
