Description:
The file recover.exe is a default file in all original installations of Windows. Especially with Windows Vista's widely varied document-generating applications, the presence of the recover.exe process in the system is highly valuable due to its utility. It renders file, object or document recovery features, even in the event of untimely application and system shut down brought about by some error.
The recover.exe process begins to function as soon as any of its dependent applications are loaded. From time to time, a temporary copy of the document is made by the system to serve as the recover.exe file's product itself. This process functions by reading the indexed APPX data file and obtains the good and active records for file output. However, corrupted data and deleted records would be discarded, not unless a third filename has been given the line of command.
Upon the recover.exe file's operation, overhead blocks that have been used for tracking deleted records would be removed. With the recover.exe process' utility, no primary or unique alternate index can be duplicated.
All files created by the recover.exe process possess a new *.key. The *.key sector bears pointers for all the data records within the *.dat module. By salvaging the *.dat module, the original *.key file would be invalidated.
As a default component of the operating system, the recover.exe has been developed to be of secure and incorruptible by viruses or spyware.
Recommendations:
