Description:

The file realsched.exe operates for the signature media playing application of RealNetworks. This process starts to execute upon the initial boot of the main computer system. This file reminds the AutoUpdate and Message Centre facilities of the application to perform their respective direct upgrading duties.

The realsched.exe process performs an independent operation from its housing program. Because of this, the said process is capable of loading even without opening the main application. However, the realsched.exe file's function is not a required protocol for the media player to run. This file loads itself right away to check all the media player's facilities and keep everything within the application up to date. It performs automatic upgrade checks for related Real Networks products related to the application.

The realsched.exe process also monitors the media player's functions and activities. Aside from the start up checks, this is also a way of how the file realsched.exe detects the possible necessary updates the application is needing.

This file can be seen operating when the user opens the Task Manager. From the Task Manager, the realsched.exe file's CPU consumption can be monitored. While the said sector is performing its routing checks and other related functions, like upgrade downloading, installing, etc., the realsched.exe program has a high consumption in the CPU usage. But after this program's main operation, the CPU consumption rate neutralizes and goes back to the original rate of operation.

Since the process realsched.exe is not a required operation, this can be disabled through proper steps. Depending on the users upgrading preference, this file is sometimes disabled to control the untimely upgrades, and proceed to manually check for updates instead of using the realsched.exe file to reduce the occurrence of high CPU usage. However, it is still the realsched.exe process that knows better than the user since it "knows" the most probable upgrades and schedule releases, and since it is created by the accommodating application itself, this file's function and operation is definitely safe and conducive for the media application's better operation.
