Description:

The file raid_tool.exe was developed by VIA Technologies as support software for its distributed hardware peripherals (i.e. motherboards and RAM).

The raid_tool.exe process, or VIA RAID Tool, is a RAID (Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks) that is solely used for VIA chipsets found on the motherboard. The concept behind the RAID controller is a simple method of taking multiple physical drives (e.g. Hard Disk Drive or HDD) and making them function as a single volume. This method also allows for indexed and sorted files, which increases the write and access routines run by the system.
