The qushelfxx.exe process provides a system tray icon for easy access to the components of the Microsoft Bookshelf program. This is why the application qushelfxx.exe is names QuickShelf. Microsoft Bookshelf was a part of Microsofts work involving the promotion of CD-ROM technology. It was used as a medium to distribute electronic publishing. The 1987 edition of Microsoft Bookshelf contained Rogets Thesaurus, the World almanac and the American Heritage dictionary of the English language among others.
