Description:

The process ql.exe permits fax transfers to fax machines and fax software. It also allows data transfers to other computers. The file ql.exe is usually bundled with the HP Pavilion computer series. HP Pavilion computers contain several software programs that work with the model, some of which are QuickLink III, Internet Explorer, Outlook Express, and eFax.

The file ql.exe and the computer modem work together to provide the user with the feature of sending and receiving faxes. This feature can be accessed through the QuickLink III program from the Programs option of the Start menu. If the user prints a fax document through the QuickLink III application, the application ql.exe will send this document to the recipient and make it ready to send as fax. However, this process has nothing to do with using the computer printer. QuickLink III simply pretends to be a printer to perform this specific task.

The ql.exe process, which implements the QuickLink III application, is a sophisticated communications software package. The file features virtually unlimited fax and data phone books that allow users to create direct links to an xBase file for automatic phone book updates. The ql.exe program also features wireless and cellular support, and extensive data communication functionality.

The ql.exe file only needs to be in the startup group if the user allows the phone to automatically answer calls in fax mode. This enables the system to receive faxes after a certain number of phone rings.
