Description:

The QuikShield application has incorporated the file qkshield.exe to perform its task of blocking popup windows whenever youre browsing the Internet.

The process qkshield.exe will provide the user with the QuikShield icon in the system tray. Left-clicking this icon once will cause the file qkshield.exe to instantly hide all Web, AOL, and Chat windows on the computer. The user only needs to left-click the icon again to bring the windows back on the desktop. The icon will then change color to signify if it is hiding any windows.

When the popup window blocking feature of the program qkshield.exe is turned on, the QuikShield will automatically block all Internet popup windows from being displayed on the computer. To activate this feature, users only need to right-click on the QuikShield icon and select the Options menu. This will enable the display of the QuikShield Options screen. The option can also be used to turn off the popup blocking feature.

The qkshield.exe file will also display a brief message on the lower-right portion of the screen whenever the application blocks a popup window. There are instances when the user does not want to block a popup window from a link. To stop the qkshield.exe application to block the desired popup window, simply hold the CTRL key on the keyboard and left-click on the link. When the popup window is displayed, users can then release the key. This will prevent users from continuously turning the QuikShield off and on.

Other additional feature of the file qkshield.exe is the Password Protection available from the QuikShield Options screen. This will allow the user to set a password that the file qkshield.exe will require before displaying previously hidden Web, AOL, and Chat windows. This is to ensure that nobody will access the windows you are viewing.

The last feature of the file qkshield.exe is the Clear Internet History & Cookies feature. This is available by simply right-clicking the QuikShield icon. This will allow the user to erase all Internet History, including temporary Internet files, and Cookies.
