Description:

The QDI Desktop Manager is run by the file qdmstart.exe. The application is part of QDI ManageEasy, for QDIs series of motherboards. It is used for monitoring PSU, temperatures, BIOS information, and others. The process qdmstart.exe is only required when the user overclocks components and needs to monitor the status of the system.

The program qdmstart.exe is bundled with ManageEasy application and the Legend QDI BrillianX Series 440BX Intel Pentium II Processor based motherboard. The application is enhanced Client/Server management software. The process qdmstart.exe serves as an interface between users and the complex hardware. It is a useful tool to monitor PC health. It also provides local and remote alerts on potential problems in the real time at both individual PC and LAN level. The application also gives the user predictive failure mechanisms for catching problems with the hard drive, fan, power supply, or temperature.

The ManageEasy Desktop Manager implemented by the program qdmstart.exe has three components. The first component is the Administrator Management Application (AMA). This element provides the management tools for the administrator. It provides remote monitoring and management capabilities to the administrator. Under the LAN environment, the administrator can detect or view the system information and PC health status of any computer. AMA also has some special features to assist the user, including the remote watching of the computers screen, communication with remote computers, and remote control of computers OS resources.

The second component is the Local Management Application, which is used for local computers. Some of the functions of the LMA component include basic hardware monitor, memory, input/output ports, PC health, and configuration.

Lastly, the DMI BIOS Viewer provides information about the computing system and its components. This is also a local application and supports DM BIOS 2.3.
