Description:
The process pcimodem.exe is associated to MDP7800-U Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) modem made by Aztech. Peripheral Component Interconnect is specifically a computer bus that is used to attach peripheral devices into the motherboard of a computer. A Peripheral Component Interconnect can either be an integrated circuit that is fixed on the motherboard or an expansion card is fixed into a socket.
Meanwhile, a modem comes from the root word modulator-demodulator. A modem modulates encoded digital information that was once before an analog carrier signal. A modem also demodulates a carrier signal to interpret the transmitted information. Modem has the function to transmit signals easily and translate the transmitted signal to copy the original digital data.
The process pcimodem.exe can be installed in Windows 95 OSR1 or Windows 95 OSR2 platform. To install the PCI modem driver that uses the process pcimodem.exe in Windows 95 OSR1, the PCI PnP (Plug and Play) Modem will be automatically detected by the Win95 and the New Hardware Found dialog box will appear. Then, the user will insert the installation disc provided into the CD-ROM drive. After that, the user has to select the driver from the option of the hardware manufacturer then click OK. Finally, the user should type D: \ Win95\ in the combo box then click OK.
To install in Windows 95 OSR2, Win95 will automatically detect the PCI PnP Modem. A dialog box will appear saying Update Device Driver Wizard. Then insert installation CD in the CD-ROM drive. For the system to search for an updated driver, the user should click Next. To use the searched driver, click Finish. After that click Ok when asked to insert the installation disk. Afterwards, change the path to D:\ then click Ok. The system will automatically load all drivers and files that are needed.
