PC-cillin 2000 practically installs itself and once installed, it scans the files on the hard drive automatically and also those, which were downloaded from the Internet and opened in e-mail or on the browser.

The exceptional feature of PC-cillin 2000 is its Internet traffic monitoring capability. The rapid spread of viruses via email alone, makes this feature worthwhile.

Automatic and behind the scenes protection are the operative keywords to the software PC-cillin 2000. It scans all selected drives regularly. PC-cillin 2000 can also be configured to download the newest definition files for new viruses automatically on a daily, weekly, or other regular basis, in addition to an immediate manual update.

PC-cillin 2000 is updated for new viruses through its pcciomon.exe process. The process pcciomon.exe scans files for viruses. It automatically updates PC-cillin 2000 from the Internet if the user has turned on that facility.

If the user is connected to the Internet, the process pcciomon.exe downloads virus database updates and installs these updates automatically without any user action. The pcciomon.exe process when the Internet connection is established, and every four hours check the presence of a new version on Trend Micro's servers afterwards. The process pcciomon.exe was built for x86 architecture.
