Description:

The process netstat.exe is a part of Microsoft Windows TCP/IP Netstat Command, which is an integral part of the Microsoft Windows Utility Software. Microsoft Corporation developed these handy and useful tools bundled with every Windows operating system. Some of them are with complex command line options while other are difficult to access.

The program netstat.exe when executed gives you access to your network information that uses a component of Windows OS that can display all current TCP/IP network configurations. It also displays the full TCP/IP configuration for all adapters including IP address, MAC address, subnet mask, default gateway, window Internet Naming service and DNS configuration.

The netstat.exe process provides a TCP/IP diagnostics utility that can be used to obtain information about transmission Control Protocol connections, user Datagram protocol (UDP) datagram, as well as network errors and statistics. When using the file netstat.exe it gives you the address resolution protocol that allows a host to find the media access and control address of another host on the same physical network.

You can also use program netstat.exe to display protocol statistics and current TCP/IP connections. Adding a subscript on a command, like letter -a, displays all connections, while letter r, displays the route table plus active connection. The letter o command displays process IDs so you can view the owner of the port for each connection.
