Description:
The file netpersec.exe works to automatically measure the real-time speed of your Internet connection. Since different types of internet providers promise different connection speeds, the process netpersec.exe can help you know exactly how much speed you are getting from the provider. The NetPerSec utility which bundles the netpersec.exe file, monitors and graphs the network bandwidth usage for all or any network interface card displayed as a system tray icon.
Since there is increasing network traffic, the actual speeds of the Internet connection are often slower than what is promised. The netpersec.exe process monitors all TCP/IP activity to and from the Internet or other networks, and graphs the communication speed. The file netpersec.exe can run on the Windows 98, Windows NT, and Windows 2000, Windows Me or Windows XP OS platforms in version 1.1. A Visual C/C++ 6.0 source code is provided with the utility for those people who are interested in seeing how the program works inside the computer system.
The readme file from the downloaded zip file of the process netpersec.exe is not copied to the directory where the product is installed though you can open the program's main window to view current and average send and receive speeds in a configurable, graphical display. The window shows a Graph, Options, and Display and about tab in which you can easily adjust the sampling rate and the amount of data used to compute the average as well as the color depending on your preference. Clicking the undone or restore button provided can also hold the changes you made back. The file netpersec.exe displays bits per second that automatically converts to Kbps when the number is over a thousand. If the speed then falls under a thousand, the program converts it back to plain old bits per second once again.
