Net Activity Diagram, or the process nad.exe, is a useful tool that monitors your computer network and Internet activity. It was developed by Metaproducts Software Corporation, one of the first fully virtual software development companies in the world, which started its operation since 1997.

Designed to run on Windows 95/98/2000/ME/XP/2003 and now Vista, the application nad.exe not only lets you monitor network traffic, it also allows you to control it. It displays your network activity in floating windows and tray icons and gives you the option to adjust the colors, font sizes, and transparency. From there, experienced and even beginners can view established connections, monitor network traffic over a certain period of time, and set up notifications.

The new version of the application nad.exe introduces a unique and reliable filtering feature. It analyzes Internet connections independently by port number. This allows you to see Web, FTP, streaming media, and other such activities on the Net separately. The program nad.exe boasts of rich statistical capabilities allowing you to filter traffic by connection type. Connection types such as IP address or port can be seen in the Active Connections dialog.

Using a memory of 64 MB, the process nad.exe also helps you set limits on various traffic parameters. Notification by e-mail, Net sends, message box, sound or an application launch can be chosen if the limits set are exceeded. Wi-Fi users will like the signal strength indicator that is conveniently located in the system tray to help you choose the location with the fastest and most reliable strength.
