Description:

. Machine Debug Manager is software used by the Windows NT Option Pack and Microsoft Developer Studio to allow the user to have access to application debugging. Once the user has enabled the Script Debugging feature for the web browsing application of Windows (Internet Explorer), the debug manager will be initialized, whenever the user starts Internet Explorer. The file, mdm.exe presents a visible window, wherein the user can view the errors, which the said process has encountered while the application is running, as well as a set of options that the user can utilize to debug and correct the said errors. Microsoft Corporation develops this utility.

The process, mdm.exe is loaded when the computer starts. Once it has been loaded into the system, the mdm.exe process will make use of around 400 kb worth of RAM resources. Furthermore, to properly perform its tasks of enabling the user to debug certain errors, the file, mdm.exe interacts with Windows system processes. Since the process, mdm.exe checks for errors for the user to debug, while the user is carrying out other procedures in the computer, the said file is considered as a background process. The mdm.exe process does not use a network environment or Internet access to complete its tasks. The mdm.exe process is not related to any hardware.

Moving on, the user should ensure that if he has installed the application housing the mdm.exe file on his computer, no other debugging utility is installed on it. This is because the computer will have a high tendency to crash regularly, if it has more than one debugging utility installed on it. If the user is certain that he will not need the debugging features of the mdm.exe process within a specific session, he may unload it, in order to free up some memory.
