Description:
The process mcf.exe is defined as the software that runs RapidBlaster. Eventures N.V., a distributor company for the Internet Explorer toolbar called TeenSearch, developed this. TeenSearch is responsible for tracking Internet usage habits. Its main office is in Willemstad, AN.
The application mcf.exe, when activated, morphs itself to prevent some kind of detection. It will download the data containing a new folder and filename, from its controlling server. The process mcf.exe will copy itself to that folder, terminate the original process, delete the original file and run the new file into the new location.
The program mcf.exe has the ability to randomly send data to the servers used folder and filenames. It can even attach itself with the executables. It is very easy for the maker of RapidBlaster to simply update the list of folders and filenames that it uses. Searching for this folder and filenames is not just a method of detection, and it will not guarantee a RapidBlaster free system either.
The program, mcf.exe loads with the Windows boot process. Its registry values can be found in the system registry with the following registry keys: HKEY_CURRENT_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\ RapidBlaster\ CurrentVersion\ Run. The program, mcf.exe does not have a visible window and runs silently in the background.
The application mcf.exe has the ability to connect to the Internet and send what seems like a unique ID. This would be sent to its controlling server, whenever it requests the information. This will happen, especially, if there is a new path for the filenames to morph to somewhere else in your computer. The ID stored on your computer would contain the local owners name as well as other vital information.
The program, mcf.exe normally presents some problems to the user when executed. These problems often pertain to the identification of the files hiding area, and to the attempts done to delete the start up entry in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE run key. This will eventually result in the morphing of RapidBlaster to a new path or location. The running RapidBlaster process must also be stopped before removal can be successful. It is highly recommended that users, who are trying to manually remove RapidBlaster, should do so with extreme caution.
