Description:

The process lxbkbmgr.exe notifies the Lexmark software about drivers functioning in the system tray. The process allows switching to fax mode with the help of the printer buttons. The process is not a system and can be terminated at any time if needed.

The file lxbkbmgr.exe is a process that is installed alongside Lexmark Series Printers and provides additional configuration options for Lexmark Printers that can run at start up. It is launched from a desktop shortcut. The Lexmark System Tray application enables scanning or fax functions to run directly from the printer via the buttons. This startup entry of the file lxbkbmgr.exe is started automatically from a Run, Run Once, Run Services or Run Services Once entry in the registry.

The application lxbkbmgr.exe runs as part of Lexmark X1100 Button Manager that is also called the Lexmark Scan & Copy Control Program. This is usually found in the System Tray icon for the Lexmark X1100 series multifunction printer/ scanner/ copier (X1100, X1150). Through that icon, you can access from your PC all the functions available on the control pad of your Lexmark X1100/X1150: that is to scan, scan to e-mail, scan and fax, scan to OCR, copy and the scanning resolution settings.

The program ensures that proper operation of your Lexmark X1100/X1150 is implemented and you can use most of the above features via the printer's control panel. However, the end-user would need this System Tray program to scan to e-mail, fax or OCR, and to change the machine's defaults. These would be such as the default scanning resolution, the email address to scan and the e-mail too. Note that this task has been known to interfere with the ability of a PC or laptop to go into Standby Mode. Once you experience this problem, try downloading and installing the latest drivers for your printer. Whenever it is necessary to disable this task on the Startup tab, starting the program at any time via Start\ Programs\ Lexmark X1100\ Lexmark Scan & Copy Control Program can do it.
