Description:
The lxamsp32.exe process is not a Windows core file. The program is also not visible. According to Lexmark, this process is only needed if you are using your all-in-one Lexmark printer over a network, in which case this proves the theory on a need to run on both the PC. It is directly attached to the printer, and on all the other PCs on the network would want to use the printer through the network.
As a principle, if we go by Lexmark's description of the file lxamsp32.exe, you should be capable of disabling this task on the Startup tab. This is also possible if you are not on a network; or if you are on a network but you are not sharing this printer with other users on the network. For a span of time, it has been found to be true although there have also been other cases wherein we could not get the printer out anymore. If this task was disabled, we may run into other problems. One of the most frustrating issues about this task is that when you encounter problems about it, the error messages displayed would refer to its previous name, the file shpc32.exe, rather than its current name, the file lxamsp32.exe.
Once you experience this kind of problem, plus the fact that the printer is networked and you need to do the task badly, you can then check www.ATWDRIVERS.com, to see if Lexmark has more recent drivers for your printer. You can also do this if your printer won't work without the software.
In case it does, fully uninstall the current drivers, reboot, unplug your all-in-one printer, and then install the newer drivers. Thus, only plug your printer back into the PC when you are actually prompted to do so. To neutralize the file lxamsp32.exe, right-click on it on the Startup tabs and choose "Delete from the hard disk the file that the Startup points to." You then need to right-click on it again, but this time, choose "Delete this Startup entry". Click the big green APPLY button to save your changes.
The application is loaded during the Windows boot process (see Registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ Windows\ CurrentVersion\ Run).
