Description:

The Logitech Internet Update is bundled with the software that installs the Logitech devices. It is launched by the liu.exe process and is used to update the software and drivers for Logitechs Wingman, QuickCam, and other similar Logitech products. It ensures that you stay updated with the most recent drivers and latest software versions by automatically checking with the Logitech website.

The liu.exe process performs its functions thru the system tray icon. However, some online service providers, which are proprietary in nature, never place the standard icon of the Windows connection in the system taskbar because they utilize their own connection icon. To work with this difficulty of using the Logitech Internet Update feature, you should manually have your connection brought up. When the connection is up, select the Use an existing internet connection in the Logitech Internet Updater. You can also create your own standard Windows connection icon to be able to update using the liu.exe process.

In case your computer does not have a Web browser, running the windist.exe program in the support directory of the software that installed the Logitech device can use the liu.exe process. This will add the necessary files needed by the updating process of Logitech Internet that are not present on your system if you do not have a Web browser.

The liu.exe file has a size of 344 KB and a latest file version of 1.31.124.1. This file should be included to the list of startup processes for it to fully utilize its functions. Adding the following registry keys in the system registry does this: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ Windows\ CurrentVersion\ Run.
