Description:

The linespeedmeter.exe process can detect the download and upload speed of your Internet connection. In summary, the linespeedmeter.exe process measures the speed of the Internet connection.

If the program user runs the Line Speed Meter, the linespeedmeter.exe process is tasked with providing a speed analysis of the users Internet connection speed. The quality of the data and the results provided by the linespeedmeter.exe process improves as more tests are run.

The linespeedmeter.exe process assumes that the users Internet connection is faster than what it really is. Then the linespeedmeter.exe file can effectively measure the speed at which programs communicate within the computer, rather than the speed of the connection.

In cases where the user makes use of Line Speed Meter in a corporate environment and the proxy server is LAN based, the server might cache outward data. In this case the linespeedmeter.exe process will be measuring the speed of the LAN. The Line Speed Meter will then post the result of which the algorithms will discard the upload result and will record "0" for the upload speed.

Measurement of the speed of Internet connection is inherently statistical. It is therefore important that one runs the test a number of times over a period of time. Only then will it be possible to get a realistic opinion of the type of connection.

The process linespeedmeter.exe treats the upload speed with the same importance as the download speed.
