Description:

The ledtray.exe process is installed by the LED Tray utility, an application that provides the driver and configuration settings of the USB CompactFlash card reader to any USB-enabled computer. This utility is automatically displayed when Windows starts and stays in the system taskbar to allow the immediate transfer of data from the card reader to your computer and vice versa.

The ledtray.exe file animates and changes its color to indicate power status and activity. It blinks between red and green while the card is being accessed. It displays a green X over the icon if there is no card present on the card reader or the card that has been inserted into the card reader is not recognized by the LED Tray utility. In similar manner, the ledtray.exe process shows a red X over the icon if the CompactFlash card reader unit itself is not attached to the computer or is not also recognized by the system.

The ledtray.exe process only works with earlier versions of Windows like Windows 98/98SE/ME. It is also supported on Macintosh OS. However, both Windows XP and Vista does not support the LED Tray utility since both operating systems automatically install the device.
