Description:

The laxmsp32.exe process is an executable file for Lexmark Scan and Copy Control Program for the X63 printer/scanner. It is required by the Lexmark scanner to work properly. This EXE works like a memory device which is used in storing permanent fonts, symbol sets and macros. The laxmsp32.exe file is also being used to collate larger jobs, buffer printing jobs and even compile their job statistics.

As opposed to random-access memory (RAM) whose data is temporary, this file retains certain information even when the printer is turned off, or when its language is changed. This includes printer commands of fonts, macros, and symbol sets, as well as PostScript files and demonstration files.

A few printers actually have connectors which let the user install a flash memory that is optional or a disk device; other printers may offer one or the other of these devices as a standard feature. When first installed in the printer, the laxmsp32.exe file, acting as a flash memory or disk device, may be unformatted. The user must format the program before downloading resources.

A message is being displayed over the operator panels printer or via MarkVision Professional. This is actually once the file laxmsp32.exe is unformatted. If memory becomes full while downloading resources, a message, likewise, is being displayed on the operator panels printer or via MarkVision. The file laxmsp32.exe being downloaded will not be saved unless there is room available for storing the whole file.

When the user selects Printer Control Language (PCL) emulation as the printer language, the laxmsp32.exe process enables the Lexmark X63 printer to support the Hewlett-Packard Companys LaserJet Printer Command Language. When SmartSwitch is enabled for both printer languages on an interface, the printer automatically switches to the printer language being sent by the laxmsp32.exe program.

The laxmsp32.exe process examines all print jobs and switches dynamically between PostScript emulation and PCL emulation, utilizing the actual raster area. Thus, before sending the information, the laxmsp32.exe process sets several parameters including the presentation mode, the resolution, the compression mode, and the raster height and width, and starts raster graphics. These settings, unlike the ones mentioned above, are retained only until the printer is reset, or if they are overwritten with a different command.
