Description:

The process launchap.exe is related to the programs required to allow multimedia keys on Acer multimedia keyboards to function correctly. The launchap.exe file is loaded during the Windows boot process. It is an integral part of the Acer Launch Manager for programmable keys, which comes pre-installed on Acer laptops particularly the TravelMate 610, and some Fujitsu products.

Once the launchap.exe process is ceased, the multimedia keys on the keyboard will no longer function. However, all the other buttons on the keyboard should still be okay. This is because this process is in charge of programming these normal keys allowing them to function as hotkeys to the Acer multimedia keyboards. It also allows reprogramming the normal keyboard buttons in order to create shortcuts to other applications that you choose.

The launchap.exe process installs an icon for the Acer Launch Manager program on the taskbar next to the clock. This icon provides users the option to easily configure and manage keys for shortcuts, and to preset the settings of the Bluetooth radio and WLAN.

The launchap.exe process also works for PowerKey management on Acer computers. PowerKey is an advanced program for encryption cut out to protect important and vital types of information stored in the computer. It has a Wipe feature which deletes data permanently to disable restoring it. The launchap.exe file allows creation of SFX packages for PowerKey enabling it to keep private information safely and securely from any program crackers.

The EXE launchap.exe also provides an AntiPasswordSpy code. It is a feature which removes the probability of passwords being hacked and cracked. It therefore gives the Acer Notebook user with an impenetrable protection against all types of password-crackers. The launchap.exe application executes the password generation tool that will generate passwords proven to be strong.
