Description:

The Lanspeed2 application was designed to monitor any network traffic that uses a LAN adapter. The process lanspeed2.exe or the Lanspeed2 application exclusively supports Ethernet or Token ring network cards (LAN adapters) and does not monitor dial-up or modem connections.

The purpose of the lanspeed2.exe process is mainly to allow users to monitor upload and download activity. This application is basically useful in troubleshooting connection problems. It lets the user see why it takes so long to download a file or page and checks if the connection is alive. The lanspeed2.exe process can also display a graph showing the internet connection speed, average download and upload speed and the amount of data that has been downloaded or uploaded.

Moreover, by using Lanspeed2, the user can monitor if anyone is accessing his computer beyond his knowledge. The lanspeed2.exe process implements a Real-time indication bar that show downloads as they occur. The user can enable the log file option so that all activities that pass through the Real-time indication bar can be reviewed as event logs.

The lanspeed2.exe process can simultaneously monitor ten adapters with maximum efficiency. It is also integrated with three kinds of draw styles as well as fade-in and fade-out effects. Its graphical display of monitoring report can show 5 up to 10 gridlines with values, or it can reset or adjust the graph to the highest visible value.

Running Lanspeed2 will take the user to its main window where the options menu can be set and where the launch button is located. The main window can optionally be set to show on top of all other windows. The user is also given an option to launch lanspeed2.exe without showing the main window.

The menu toolbar directs the user to select important settings that instruct the process lanspeed2.exe how to implement the application. Most importantly, the user must select first what adapters to monitor. Before Lanspeed2 will be able to show any monitoring graphs, at least one adapter should first be selected. Even if the user selects multiple adapters at the same time, the log file will still display individual values for each adapter.
