Developers in Starr Software, Inc. designed the StarrCommander Pro keystroke logging software as a stealth monitoring utility. It has text logging functionality and can record keystrokes, user names, passwords, path names, access times, and windows titles. After recording all these information, it then sends the log file by email. The log file is searchable for keywords, thus making evaluation of large log files easier. Reports can also be sent as password-protected, compressed zip files to ensure maximum security. The krec32.exe process is initiated just by typing in an IP address in the Internet Explorer of a target computer.

When installed on the system, the krec32.exe program will be able to record all keystrokes as the user types on the keyboard. It captures information and stores them in a file that can be sent via email. Starr software can save log files directly over a local area network (LAN).
