The kazaa.exe process works as the main executable for Kazaa. This software offers an all-in-one package for searching, downloading, publishing or simply sharing files over the network or through the Internet. Its developers simply describe it as a peer-to-peer sharing program. The peer-to-peer technology (P2P) integrated into Kazaa makes it unique to other sharing applications. When running the kazaa.exe process, the P2P feature is activated so that individual users will be able to connect to each other directly without passing through or needing a central point of management. Installing Kazaa in the system automatically connects the user to other Kazaa users around the world.

One of Kazaas main selling points is its P2P searches. These searches occur through users with fast connections or Supernodes. The kazaa.exe process uses the Supernodes to locate the file, and once located, the file is sourced for downloading directly from the user who has it.

Another outstanding feature of Kazaa is its ability to promote and distribute files using the tool Magnet Links. By taking advantage of Magnet Links, websites can directly search for files and connect to a particular file that can be downloaded with P2P technology. The Magnet Links tool is a simple yet cost-effective way of publishing self-authored content on the Internet that will save you a lot in bandwidth costs. The Magnet Link Builder is where users can drag and drop a file for publication.
