Description:

The irxfer.exe file is used as an installer for the IrDa file transfer program also known as the Microsoft Infrared Transfer application. The IrDa file transfer program is used in computers running on Microsoft Windows 95 or Microsoft Window 98 that incorporates infrared as a means of transferring data from a device to the computer or vice versa. Infrared, which is likewise known as IR or IrDA (infrared data association), is generally used in infrared light, TV remote controls, and cell phones. For systems or devices that communicate data with the use of infrared radiation like infrared wireless printing or infrared keyboards, IR wireless is used.

The irxfer.exe file may be included in the installation of the Microsoft Windows 95 or Windows 98 operating system as the IrDA transfer code or it can also be installed separately through the command prompt of Windows. To run the irxfer.exe file from Windows 95s or Windows 98s Start/Run command line, just execute the irxfer.exe file. The irxfer.exe file needs to be installed on both the device and the systems that will be performing IrDA file transfer and receipts.

When the irxfer.exe file is already installed, the user can transfer data by opening the Windows File Manager, clicking File, choosing Send to, and finally clicking on IrDA recipient. The user can transfer and receive data from another computer, PDA, or cell phones. For instance, if the user is going to transfer a data from a cell phone to a computer, he must make sure that both devices are compatible or it uses the same IrDA program to properly establish a connection and perform the transfer.
