Description:

The inort9x.exe process is related to the Real Time Monitor of the eTrust Antivirus from Computer Associates. Computer viruses are pieces of programming codes that were designed to make copies of it and spread to different locations; it typically does this without the knowledge of the user and without permission. Viruses spread through the network, Internet downloads, email and diskettes. Viruses do not spread on their own, but are executed by someone to cause damage. Threats include viruses, worm, Trojans and other malware that reduce productivity, violate privacy, and disrupt operations. The inort9x.exe file runs in the background and scans files when they are executed, written, or read from a device or disk. eTrust Antivirus is able to detect viruses from files that are downloaded from the Internet, from online services, email, and compressed archives.

The inort9x.exe process monitors the activity in the system and prevents the spread of viruses that, once executed, can affect memory, and performance and change or delete important data.
