Description:
The ifsplash.exe process is defined as I-Force Startup that initializes the software I-Force Splash. I-Force Splash is a program which activates the Force Feedback Steering Wheel in the Game Control Panel as well as the forces and sound effect capabilities of the steering wheel device.
The Force Feedback Steering Wheel is a high-performance gaming peripheral which has been designed to work with all games incorporating I-Force technology. The ifsplash.exe program allows you to utilize all the features and functions of the steering wheel. It is compatible with Windows 95 and above, and works with most games that support DirectX 5.0 or greater. Most recent games come with DirectX and have the option to install it.
For safety reasons, the Force Feedback steering wheel uses a 'Dead Man Switch'. This system ensures that when you release your hands from the steering wheel, the force feedback effects immediately stop. When your hands return to the steering wheel, the force feedback effect will continue. There are three dead man switches on the Force Feedback device. These consist of an infrared transmitter and receiver. When you break the infrared beam of any of the three switches with your hand, the effect becomes operational. The location of the three switches on the wheel is marked on it with small red arrows.
The ifsplash.exe process is enabled at startup and displays the I-Force logo. It can also be disabled from loading at startup by locating the I-Force CTRL icon located in the Control Panel and unchecking the box labeled Enable I-FORCE Startup Splash. You can also remove the registry keys of the ifsplash.exe file from the system registry. Its registry entries can be found in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ Windows\ Run. You can also disable forces and sounds at startup by unchecking the appropriate boxes in the Control Panel.
The file ifsplash.exe acts as a background application because it monitors the activities of the steering wheel device.
The ifsplash.exe programs menu screen is normally where you may set the sensitivity of your wheel. It also sets the strength of the force feedback effects. The ifsplash.exe application lets you feel the action as the wheel responds to collisions, changes in road surface, jumps, and many other realistic sensations.
