Description:

The process idesktop.exe executes the TouchWare Desktop software, which was designed to give a feeling to certain devices such as the Logitech iFeel Mouse or even to systems and applications such as the Microsoft Windows and the Internet.

The idesktop.exe file integrates unique settings for touch themes, among other features. It adds capability to feel text in Wordpad and Notepad. It also implements visual effects for menus, buttons, and icons. With this, PC users get a feel of the variations among objects that are selected, objects that are grayed out, and objects with submenus attached to them.

With the TouchWare Desktop, users are treated to improved sensations, giving a better feel of the speed and control of scrolling. It also features a theme editor that facilitates customization of themes with the use of Studio software also from Immersion. These customized themes are saved by the process idesktop.exe as .ifr files and are stored in the hard drive. The process idesktop.exe can also initialize at least seven different TouchSense Desktop Themes that users can choose from. Some of these themes are called Crisp, Metallic, and Rubbery.

The good thing about TouchWare Desktop is that it gives a free hand to users to customize their desktop. The functionality of the idesktop.exe file is that it can give a computer desktop a more natural, more satisfying, and easier-to-use interface. Using the controls provided by the idesktop.exe application, the edges of a window border gives a feeling of a groove carved in the desktop, the thumb of a scrollbar feels like it has a spring, and even the icons give a feeling of crossing a texture surface as they move. Similarly, toolbar buttons, checkboxes, and hyperlinks will have a twitchy feel when touched with the mouse cursor.

The Immersion TouchWare Desktop is shipped together with Immersion TouchSense pointing products such as mice, trackballs, and other devices. It can work automatically with basic user interface in all Windows applications as well as hyperlinks and form elements in all Web pages. This software can be used alone or with the Immersion TouchWare Business software package.
