Description:

The process ida.exe is the core launching application of the software Internet Download Accelerator. It provides a noticeable acceleration of speed while downloading files from the Internet. Such acceleration is achieved by splitting the file being downloaded into several parts while simultaneously downloading these parts.

The ida.exe application uses HTTP, HTTPS, and FTP protocols. It works behind HTPP and FTP proxy servers, and supports NTLM and NTLM-proxy authentication. This process automatically detects your browsers proxy settings and can be set to automatic synchronization of files between your computer and the server.

The ida.exe program integrates with browsers like Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Netscape Navigator, and many others to increase the usability of the application. After integration, the program automatically intercepts download and integrates on the browsers context menu. The application ida.exe also integrates with IDATop, which is a file catalog that enables you to search for files and mirrors right from the program.

The process ida.exe installs an icon on the System Tray, which starts minimized at every Windows startup. This icon can also be set to animate while downloading. The animate speed depends on the current IDA speed mode. A right click on the IDA icon launches a context menu where you can disable browser integration.
