Description:
The icabar.exe process comes with Citrix Metaframe; a remote access and application publishing program. The icabar.exe file executes the ICA protocol for the application server system. ICA or Independent Architecture is a protocol developed by Citrix that lays down the specifications for data passed between the server and its clients, and is not bound to one platform.
Citrix applications that run in suitable Windows servers also let supported clients to obtain access to these applications. The icabar.exe file functions to provide user input feedback from client computers to the server. It also provides various means for the server to transmit graphical input as well as audio and other media from a running program to the client computer.
The icabar.exe process launches the necessary protocols so that people can connect to applications that are available on a main server. This advantage lets users connect remotely to these applications; they may connect from their home, from smart phones, Internet kiosks or through other devices outside of their corporate network. The publishing application also lets users connect or log on to their corporate network anywhere, and browse through applications such as Outlook to check email and other internal programs.
The Citrix architecture supported by the icabar.exe process runs applications in a users computer as if it was installed in the computer and is seamlessly integrated in the desktop; but in reality, the program is running a Citrix Server hosted in the corporate environment. Citrix Metaframe is like using a mainframe-terminal type system where a main powerful computer does the processing work for less powerful machines providing just the user interface.
The icabar.exe file also launches the thin client protocol for the client-server architecture that mainly depends on the primary server for all the processing activities, and focuses in facilitating the input and output that occurs between the client and remote server.
