Description:

The process file gbmenu.exe is also known as Roxios GoBack application. The general function of the GoBack application or the gbmenu.exe process is to allow the user to return to a previously functioning state of the users hard drive, in cases when the user installs a new program and his system malfunctions. This simulates the same functions as System Restore on Windows Me and XP systems but comes with extra features.

The process file gbmenu.exe allows the computer to go back to a state when its system was working at its healthiest, prior to a computer system malfunction. It saves the user enough time to reconfigure the computer system and repair the damage before the system malfunction causes more damage to the system. Roxio's GoBack application may or may not be automatically launched upon system startup.

One particular feature unique to the Roxio GoBack is that it allows users to see a preview of the folders and files as well as their settings at the time the backup was created. The gbmenu.exe file does this by creating a virtual disk whenever it creates backups. This feature helps users in selecting which backup to load and to make sure that their desired changes will occur. Users would also be able use the gbmenu.exe program or the Roxio Goback to search for the backup containing specific versions of each file.

Roxio was primarily a digital media company created from the 2001 spin-off of Adaptec's Software Products Group, followed by the 2002 winning of MGI Software. Roxio's management chose to concentrate on the digital music download and subscription market, and gave birth to the then popular Napster application.
